Quantitative Systems Pharmacologist, DMPK

Blueprint Medicines is seeking an exceptional Quantitative Systems Pharmacology/DMPK scientist. Reporting to the Director of DMPK, this individual will be responsible for independently implementing quantitative translational strategies at a project level and contributing to expanding QSP capabilities beyond traditional modeling and simulation. The candidate will have an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced biotechnology company with an expansive pipeline and will be uniquely positioned to participate and contribute to a multitude of projects from early discovery to late-stage clinical development.


  • Represent Modeling and Simulation function to preclinical and clinical projects
  • Develop and execute Quantitative Translational Pharmacology strategy for oncology and immuno-oncology. Collaborate with Clinical to ensure transfer of quantitative knowledge to support the design of early clinical studies
  • Apply cellular to disease scale modeling to elucidate the key interaction between different cells, tissues and organs in response to disease state and/or to therapeutic interventions 
  • Participate in the evaluation and development of pharmacometric strategies in collaboration with Clinical Pharmacology
  • Author relevant regulatory submission documents (IND, IB, NDA)


  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5+ years of applicable experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry role is required; or, PhD (or Postdoc) in chemical biology, chemistry, toxicology, or pharmacology, in addition to 1-3+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry role is required
  • Demonstrated expertise (via publication) in modeling and simulation, especially in the area of Quantitative Systems Pharmacology
  • Proficient in mechanistic modeling using Matlab, R, ADAPT, NONMEM, or any equivalent software packages
  • Proven track records of applying M&S to issue resolution in drug discovery and developmental challenges and aiding in model-based drug development
  • Team player who can seamlessly embed with project teams and operate efficiently in a matrixed environment
  • Industrial experience as a mechanistic modeler in support of either preclinical or clinical project teams preferred
