Senior Scientist, DMPK

Blueprint Medicines is seeking an exceptional DMPK Senior Scientist. Reporting to the Director of DMPK, this individual will design, develop, and implement the DMPK strategy at the project level to overcome short- and long-term developmental challenges. The candidate will have an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced biotechnology company with an expansive pipeline and will be uniquely positioned to participate and contribute to a multitude of projects from early discovery to late-stage clinical development.

Responsibilities:

  • DMPK project representative to preclinical and clinical projects
  • Contribute to lead optimization by working closely with medicinal chemists and help devise SAR strategies for ADME related properties
  • Work closely with Biologists and project teams to elucidate PK-PD-efficacy relationship to guide clinical dosing paradigm
  • Design and execute rodent/non-rodent PK, ADME screening and characterization, bridging PK and IND-enabling studies to support clinical transition
  • Manage outsourcing of ADME/PK studies
  • Contribute to DMPK section of regulatory documents (IND, IB, NDA)

Qualifications:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5+ years of applicable experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry role is required OR PhD (or Postdoc) in chemical biology, chemistry, toxicology, or pharmacology, in addition to 1-3+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry role is required

  • Industrial experience as a DMPK project representative to preclinical or clinical project teams and/or served as an investigator in ADME lab
  • Proven expertise (via publication) in one of the following area- transporter, DDI, permeability, modeling and simulation, or chemical design
  • Demonstrated ability to apply DMPK principles in characterizing candidate for the progression into clinic
  • Team player who can seamlessly embed into project teams and operate efficiently in a matrixed environment
